Is there anything I need to know before installing my new fixture(s)?

Yes, unsealed and hand-aged live-finishes are prone to fingerprints, clean hands or soft gloves are recommended during installation.

How do I install my plug-in sconce?

Make sure the wires are fully tucked in within the back plate and follow the instructions found in the PDFs located at the bottom of this page.

How do I clean brushed brass?

If your brass fixture has tarnish or fingerprints, you can clean it using a brass metal polish. I recommend any of the following products: Brasso, Turtle Wax polishing compound or Bar Keeper's Friend (do not use any of these on hand-aged fixtures).

I got fingerprints on my hand-aged fixture, what do I do?

​Usually, a Clorox wipe can clean it if done right away, dry immediately with a soft paper towel following the natural metal grain (diluted degreaser can also work, try first on an inconspicuous area).

Will the artisanal finishes age or tarnish?

Yes, the hand-aged live-finishes are left unsealed and they will age beautifully and naturally over time, except dark bronze. The aging process will vary depending on the surrounding environment.

Are your fixtures dimmable?

Yes, all RSW fixtures are compatible with dimmer switches.

Are your fixtures compatible with sloped ceilings?

Yes, I can add a swivel/hang-straight upon request to accommodate sloped ceilings on most of RSW chandeliers and semi-flush fixtures.

Can any of your fixtures be made in a plug in version?

Absolutely! All RSW fixtures can be made into a plug in version for an additional fee, just shoot me a message!

Can you add a switch to your fixtures?

Most RSW fixtures can have a pull chain or rotary switches added for an additional fee, just shoot me a message!

Are your fixtures compatible with my country's voltage?

Yes, all RSW fixtures are 110-240V compatible so they work in all countries.

Are your fixtures available in other finishes?

Most fixtures can be made in brushed brass, antique brass, artisanal live-finishes, sealed brass finishes, gunmetal, matte black, matte white, polished nickel, brushed nickel, high quality enamel paints or a combination of either. Just shoot me a message!

Do you use UL rated/CE certified components?

Yes, all the components used on RSW completed products are UL rated/CE certified.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS

SHIPPING

When will my order ship?

RSW fixtures are handmade to order and have a build time of about 3-4 weeks in addition to 3-7 days for shipping within the US, contact me for international shipping inquiries. RSW does not keep stock of fixtures at this time.

Do you offer expedited build times?

Yes, pricing depends on your order subtotal but starts at just $50. This option puts you to the front of the build queue and typically reduces build times from the standard 2-4 weeks down to about just 10 business days if parts are in stock. This option does not change the shipping speed, which is generally 3-7 business days for USA customers, and 2 weeks for international customers. Send me a message if you're on a time crunch and I'll work with you!

What services do you ship with?

Standard USA service is USPS Priority Mail for small items. Larger or heavier items are typically shipped through FedEx or UPS.

My fixture arrived damaged. What now?

I do my best to pack all fixtures so that they do not get damaged, but sometimes damage does occur during shipping. Shoot me a message at customerservice@retrosteamworks.com and I'll help you out.

Do international customers have to pay taxes and duties?

Yes, since RSW does not collect tax on behalf of your local government, your purchases are subject to local taxes and duties as applicable.

RETURNS

What is your return policy?

Apologies, but RSW cannot accept returns for refund or exchange as all products are custom made to order. I take pride and effort in describing my items in great detail and providing accurate pictures of each product. Please be sure to read the item description and view all pictures before ordering.

My fixture is DOA, what do I do?

Please send me a message to customerservice@retrosteamworks.com to asses the situation.

Do you offer a warranty?

I offer a limited lifetime warranty on all RSW fixtures from manufacturing defects, if you have any issues with your fixture at any point you can send me a message and I'll be happy to help you out.

Are dimmers included in the warranty?

All my dimmers are tested to be in working order before shipment, unfortunately since dimmers are electronic devices that can be damaged if overloaded or improperly handled they are only covered under a three-month warranty, but I would gladly repair a damaged dimmer for a low fee.
